Unique in the region and beyond: the new wine world at the Scheck-in Center Sinzheim. A magnet for wine lovers that turns shopping into an inspiring experience.
A market with impact
When the Scheck family opened the new gigantic Scheck-in Center in Sinzheim near Baden-Baden on September 11, 2024, it was immediately clear: something truly special had been created. Covering 9,000 square meters, it is the largest and most modern store of the group – and at its heart lies a wine world that goes far beyond the ordinary.
More than just a wine section – an experience with magnetic appeal
Our task was not to line up shelves with as many bottles as possible, but to create a place that inspires and evokes emotion. A space where discerning wine lovers do not simply find products, but live an experience: an atmosphere that invites them to linger and service that leaves a lasting impression. This generates an attraction that reaches far beyond Sinzheim, establishing the market as a destination for wine enthusiasts across the region.
The path into another world
The journey begins already in the transition area. To the right, the wine bistro welcomes guests – a place to taste, enjoy, and engage in conversation. Right next to it lies the treasure chamber: climate-controlled, with glass walls, filled with fine wines that fascinate from the outside and awaken the desire to explore further.
The atmosphere is shaped by elegant wall designs and strikingly staged shelving. Square bottle-shaped lights descending from the ceiling create unique highlights, while the curved wooden beam ceilings with integrated LED lighting almost evoke the spirit of a historic wine cellar – yet also provide a warm and inviting coziness. Already here every visitor feels: they are entering another world.
The wine section unfolds
Then the view opens to the actual wine department – 600 square meters, holding up to 12,000 bottles. Different shelving types ensure variety and flexibility, tall wall racks provide overview, modular elements showcase special formats. Close to the checkout area, a stylishly staged spirits section smartly rounds off the shopping experience and boosts additional sales.
Atmosphere meets sales growth
The centerpiece of this world is not architecture alone, but the experience. Expert advice tailored to each guest. Wines available for direct tasting – in the tasting area that encourages exchange and turns sampling into enjoyment. A bistro offering small snacks makes lingering a natural part of shopping. The result is a place where customers stay longer, discover more – and purchase more often. The successful combination of assortment, atmosphere, and service not only strengthens customer loyalty but also measurably increases sales.
A beacon for the region
In Sinzheim, an attraction has emerged that radiates far beyond the city limits. Wine lovers from across the region – and even further afield – find here a destination worth seeking out. The outstanding positioning of the wine department makes the market a beacon in the competition: a place that transforms shopping into an experience, attracts new customer groups, and sustainably strengthens Edeka through sales growth.
